I have a Vishnu-tuned Stage-II-ish setup with mostly TurboXS parts. Bigger injectors, Vishnu up-pipe, ECUTEK, lame ion turbo. I think it runs (smells) _very_ rich and I'd be extremely surprised if it passed. I still have the stock exhaust.
Anybody got any recommendations? Can I get it retuned to run leaner?
I'll check my PMs later.

when I move to San jose maybe I'll take my stock exhaust with me and rent it out
I would think at least one of the local shops would do a "smog special" and do the exhaust uninstall/install+new gaskets at a discounted price.

Passed SMOG with my old 02 Si, had a Type-S swap in it, not BAR'd JRSC that was CARB Approved, AEM CAI CARB'd, prototype 2 step header with cat, running rich passed on the roller sniffer test. It can be done with lil or no modifications, I did mine in Redwood City for $60 with cert. Also ran it with 100 octane fuel and it passed

I passed mine last fri. I put stock downpipe and uppipe. Just had gauges and cobb stage I. This particular tech was ****. I'm glad I put those back. He was looking all over the place with a flashlight and mirror. He even asked me if the intercooler is stock. @!#$ I'm giving smog check a middle finger. Put those #$$% back in along with a new turbo! Seriously, if CARB would make HFC legal as long it passes sniff test, I think more people would spend on HFC downpipe rather go all catless.

However, if you were to say, knock out her cats so that you failed the smog test, you could then replace them with any other HFC as long as it passes
