just got 235/40-17 so3! awesome!

Just got 5Zigen fno1r-c 17x8 plus 235/40-17 bridgestone so-3 for my '05 wrx - its like a whole new car!
handling is awesome, the brakes actually stop reasonably well, only drawback is that it feels a little slower accelerating from the start - guess cause the tires + wheels are heavy. Time for power mods!

just wanted to share w00t!

ya wheels look sexaay - they are a little smaller then stock overall, so now i got even more wheel gap.

tires are good for grip, but they got this blocky thread it follows the road a little too well - no one handed driving!

I am glad you are enjoying them. SO-3's are very good tires. They got one helluva sidewall. Pain in the **** to mount them especially with 40 series.

Question

great tires but the tread life is short. im thinking bout getting another set before it the rain comes nonstop. how much did u pay for them along with mounting and balancing?

Alex man, thanks for hookup everything seems awesome! 40 mebbe a pain to mount, but thats what you recommended I get (great recommendation - the handling is great the 235 sticks like glue, i was grinning on all ramps and curves!)

mxspl80:7 As far as pricing - talk to Alex he will hook you up.

Noise level seems to have gone up a little, I got me a 99 sq feet of Fatmat in mah closet ready to go in the floor when I got time to take care of that.

For wheels and tires I recommend Alex he knows his sheeet and gets all stuff quickly!

a quick question, should I still use the same tire pressure as says in the manual?

My pricing on SO-3's alone is not good. Better to get them through Tire Rack. Don't forget to go though the link here on i-Club if you do that. I worked out a good deal with Igor with rims and tires. That I can do very good with Volks or 5Zigens.

As far as the tire pressure goes, it all depends on what you want. Handling, lifespan of the tire, ect. Personally, for everyday driving I run 35psi all around and 3psi more all around when it starts getting too cold.

I just got rota subzeros [17x7.5] from LIC, and some 215/45/17 Pirelli PZero Nero's from tirerack.com(hopefully it registered I came from i-club :x ) and I notice an incredible difference in the way the car grips and handles. Much better then RE92s.

Nice choice. S-03s own. They might wear out faster than other tires, but there's always a trade-off for most things.
