The Joe P. MBC is a ball and spring type MBC and will hold boost well. It is only $50 from http://www.boostcontroller.com I reccomend this mbc highly. I had one before I went with the Blitz SBC-id, and I never had a problem with it.
TurboXS makes quite a few different MBC's. Their standard boost controller, that sells for $79 is a bleed off type, and doesn't hold boost as well as the ball and spring design. I also had this MBC, and I didn't like it. TurboXS also sells the High Performance MBC for $129, and it has a combination of ball and spring and bleed off valve in the same part.
I really don't think any MBC is worth anything over $50, unless you want it to look pretty. Its up to you.
