haha i know its not the same, my dad is a pilot and ive asked him before...but some 20 year old drunk tryin to put it in his car...thats funny

jet fuel is mostly kerosene with other additives

In the SJ Merc it says the guy broke into Reid-Hillview which I think is light aircraft rather than jets. However, even if it wasn't jet fuel, the dude said that aviation fuel has a lot of lead additives and would mess up your cat and valves in no time.

It was probably AVGas, 110LL. You *could* run it in your car, but you'd **** up your cats.

It was def NOT jet fuel, jets cannot use that airstrip, it's a small airport with private and small commercial airliners.

I know exactly where this took place, because there is a gas station within the airport, its just not meant for civilians.

small jet airplanes and helo's can use jet A fuel. i.e. leerjets, king airs, gulfstreams

it coulda been either... he's an idiot if he pumped in jet fuel....

That sounds exactly like the article - kinda normal pumps but with longer hoses.

Yeah, thats what I meant, those are made for the small planes... I don't think jet fuel is dispensed there. (at that station)
