LOL . . . actually what i find disturbing is that the website says collegehumor.com

i wonder what really makes them laugh--- if that were my car i'd bomb that website with a virus...then that would be funny.

Humvee's were the worst POS vehicles i have ever driven. We used to run them on JP-8 with diesel mix because it seemed to be easier on mpg.

You'd have a convoy of humvees and giant tanker driving next to them... doesn't make too much sense to me. Wish Jeep would get their *** in gear and develope a superior vehicle to that AM POS. Don't know why the DOD ever terminated that contract either???

I make it a point to laugh at morons who drive them as "civilian" cars too just to make them feel stupid. What a waste of space and gas.

Figures that DoD workers get the type of salaries the soldiers should. Well i guess someone could go crazy with a stapler in the office so nevermind

Oh, and I literally had an H1 float away on me during a flash flood at the chattahoochee river in Georgia.... I think i shared that with the sacto regulars once

i wouldnt mind having a civvie HMMWV... it's that dang .50 cal gun option that's a little hard to get...

FWIW, it's a great tow vehicle with tons of torque.

granted the military version is like riding on a piece of wood.

So true

It's not that it's really that bad. It's when you drive around in garrison is what's overkill on fuel. Im willing to bet a HUGE percentage of military funds goto keeping those things running and fueled.

If jeep made a cheaper, more economical version of the H1 then maybe we wouldn't be in a deficit.

I'm sure the lack of wheels makes the brakes look much smaller than they are, but yes they do look tiny

funny you guys should mention the brakes... the H2 actually has bigger rotors than a WRX (not that crazy, I know), but not much bigger. now, think about how much clamping force it would require to stop a vehicle weighing three times as much as a GC, but with approximately three times the mass. the calipers on those things are bigger than alfried's head and weigh about as much as his whole body.

even with those humongous calipers, those things don't stop for crap. now try putting on even heavier wheels and see if the thing stops at all... scary stuff man. the rotors just have nowhere near the heat capacity they need to deal with normal, everyday driving. i'm surprised it passed federal testing.

you should see the eight piston, billet aluminum caliper we have in the works specifically for the H2... it's the biggest aftermarket caliper in the world. pretty crazy stuff, you kind of have to see it in real life to gain an understanding of its sheer ginormity.

With 16", 2 piece vented slotted rotors right? And what's the "heavy duty" use option going to be? Parachutes?
