What was illegal about that? If it was illegal I feel like they would have not let them sit there for 2 weeks. Yea the pile of stinking **** could probably be much more sanitary, but the rest of it is illegal?

What are you? British? LoL

The Associated Press: Iraq war vet injured during Oakland protests

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Among demonstrators injured during a clash between Oakland police and protesters is a 24-year-old Marine veteran who served two tours in Iraq.
Dottie Guy, of the Iraq Veterans Against the War, an advocacy group for vets, said member Scott Olsen was hospitalized with a fractured skull.
Olsen was hit by a projectile while marching toward City Hall. Guy said it was not immediately clear if he would need surgery.
She said Olsen was marching Tuesday because he felt corporations and banks had too much government influence.
A spokesman for Highland Hospital in Oakland did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
The clash Tuesday came after officials complained about deteriorating safety, sanitation and health issues.
So I guess it's cool that this guy protects citizens, and then gets flacked in the face with a fractured skull here from a citizen he protects. That's righteous, pretttttty righteous.

If the cops would spray soap, I think they'd get them moving faster.

Damage to property is an issue, cause for concern, and reason for arrest. throwing m1000's and rocks at police is a sure way of staying legal.

like people say play stupid games, win stupid prizes

The Occupy protests seem to be the all-race version of the LA riots. Everyone is just mad so they just go crazy.

I agree that corporate and bank corruption is becoming blatant and the system is unfairly allowing the rich to influence policy to just keep making themselves richer, with the major side effect of siphoning it from the other 99% of the population. But I just don't see how these Occupy protests are going to be truly effective.

Sure it gets publicity. Maybe something real can spawn out of it. They do show the general population anger. But right now, Occupy seems completely disorganized and without vision or strategy. "The people" have this bottled up frustration that has been building, so at best these protests are a venue to vent that... hence the LA riot analogy.

I don't see how these people feel is ok protest should try to get a job not sit and camp in a city park. Stop taking my tax money and start paying your own taxes then we can talk.

Not all of these people are jobless. Most are not. That marine that was shot in the face had a high paying job. People have a right to stand up for what they believe in not just what you believe in. They feel like they can protest because it is their right. Period.

As for your tax money... that's been gone for a long time. At least the people supporting the 99 that I've spoken to are literate.

Oh, then here comes the tear gas because you are a ****ing retarded hippy.

For the record. I stand for the message behind the occupy protests, but any protest, given enough time (and as our society progresses, the necessary amount of time grows shorter) the bat **** crazy ****'s will glom on and **** the whole thing up.
