i bougth a 4g 20 gig iPod last night at the Apple store in SF. when i took it out of the box i noticed some minor scratches on the front and back. were your iPods "perfect" out of the box or am i just nitpicking. thanks

 

Mine was perfect. Was the box sealed? Sounds like you bought a returned one.

 

I bought one the other week but returned it to buy a portable DVD player. But yes it was very clean and no damage or even finger prints on the silver parts.

 

i bought one last week, the front was perfect, but the back had one scratch on it. Nothin to be to mad about, but if your front is messed up I would return it because you spent most of your time looking at the screen.

 

mine had that plastic sticky thing around it so it was in perfect condition

 

sounds returned to me.... I can't remember, do those boxes have the seales over the lids? (the stickers that you're supposed to remove or cut when you open it, even though you could go to walmart and buy stuff to replace those with sometimes ) It could be possible that they sold you a returned one without them knowing that it was ever opened if it looked like the seal was there.

 

thats shady. that ipod has to have been a return. you should exchange it

 

Just buy it brand new from Fry's. Return it and let them discount it for 5%-10%. Then buy the one you just returned. Its what i'm about to do.

 

Same here. Love my ipod. I've scratched it all to hell since then though.
