Id take it back and show them what was happening to the hose. It could be an honest mistake and an oversight. Even though it may only be a small fee oversight, imagine that he didnt notice it, the belt snaps, and then what? It becomes a bigger issue.

Nice find on the belt and glad it did not lead to further damage.

Knock - i want to see you rex. Have never seen one in the US before.

I thought these swaps were everywhere! Anyhow I have pics of it in the vb garage thing and hope to get it out to some events, as it sits I wasn't happy with the td04 and am welding up new piping for a really dumb idea: t28/16g hybrid turbo. Don't ask me why

Like I said earlier the hose cost, with labor, is next to nothing. These little problems, however, are indicators of suspect quality control. For complete assurance I recommend asking the shop to do a full inspection; if they baulk you really should take your business elsewhere.
5/5 warrenty

5 feet or 5 seconds what ever comes first

should have taken it back at the first squeel

i dunno why it would take 4 months to cut teh hose though
but simple cheap fix

sorry i misspoke, i brought the car back after the first squeal (like a month after i got it back) they fixed it. and it had tons of shavings even then.

it is the stock oem radiator, and it's clear they cut the hose too long.. because when you slip the hose onto the radiator as close as possible it barely has any clearance from the pulley. so the fact that i didn't notice it until now i don't think is my fault. i shouldn't have to double check a shops work, especially for something like that.

i know it's a cheap fix, but considering i paid big money for this work, i think it simple mistakes like this should be on their labor/dime.

you can see the tip of the hose where it goes onto the radiator was kind of hacked up (not a smooth cut at all) so it is pretty obvious they were rather neglectful/hurried at this portion of the engine install.

since i didn't do anything to cause this, i really just want them to fix it. they did overall awesome work, and gave me a really good price. i don't consider it a get what you pay for situation, because they wouldn't let me get my car back until they knew everything was good when they had any doubt.

im not gonna go into who did the work just yet. ill see what the outcome is today after calling them about it before i say any names.

other than them tightening it, and later on me tightening it nothing has changed. and the hose dust has been there since the first time i had the shop tighten it, so it's definitely on their work.

This is the proper way of handling these types of situations; notify shop, see how they handle it, praise/curse them accordingly.

Well, I stopped by the shop, showed the owner my deal, he tells me "i cannot believe we let this car out like this" and he fixed it and apologized more times than i could count.

needless to say they made it right, and were truly sorry and wanted me to continue being a happy customer. The shop is located in Santa Rosa, which is in Sonoma county, they are TL Tillet's Subaru.

I have never left that place unhappy, they really are good at what they do. They made a mistake (I'm pretty sure they are human...) and they made it right. Tom the owner has gone above and beyond the job when my car was in the shop having a new block put into the car. He replaced parts that weren't in functioning order from my car sitting so long at no extra charge and kept up with great communication during the process.

Highly recommend them if you are in Santa Rosa.
