Thanks Sam for hosting!

It was great to meet fellow iClub members at the install meet.

Much Thanks to Sonic Yellow for his tactical removal of my rounded 14mm nut!

Many Thanks to Wayne for helping me install the Group N engine mounts and for teaching me his special "ABS" technique to remove nuts/bolts!

The engine mounts feeeeeel soooo goooood.
I think I almost ran over a Cyclist on the way down from the hill.
The throttle response is instant now. No more lag.

Next on the install list is the Whiteline ALK.

Let me know when the next meet is.

tonecold: I put a Whiteline Sport ALK on mine, holy crap its so nice. I only have good things to say about it. I want to do some engine mounts myself as well. How hard was it to install them?

I'm glad everything worked out. Super fun meet. Thanks to everyone who showed and lended a helping hand. Thanks Sam for hosting the whole event and for delivering the pizza pie

Fender braces for the next install meet? I'd be interested in learning some basic welding techniques.

haha not a bad idea, I'll keep you guys posted on the next time we can do this, and it was great having you guys over. Hopefully I'll spend more time actually wrenching and less time driving to Belmont next time haha.

That's an interesting idea you got there... "weld your own fender brace"- I'll see if I can get the garage wired for 220v, so we can weld here, instead of my friend's house in emerald hills.

I should have a few production fender braces for sale by the end of the week for the RS and late model L guys, we really gotta figure out a work around for the early-mid-year L owners though.

The mounts aren't actually that hard to install. I rounded one nut, so there was a lot of trouble getting that crummy 14mm nut off in a confined space.

Sonic Yellow ended up having to hammer a 13mm 12pt socket into the rounded nut. Then he took an impact wrench to it, and after a few hits, the nut finally came off.

Removing the rear bolts are hard, but
just get one of those Ratcheting Wrench (14mm) and you are set.

Wayne is the offical expert at removing/replacing the engine mounts.

I think everyone should install these in their cars. Man, it feels good. Better than the tranny mount.

FYI, don't let Sonic Yellow control the jack when lowering the motor. He almost turned Wayne and my hands into hamburgers

So for the next meet, everyone will do engine mounts, paint their grill, and clear their headlights, ok?

Deemon113, I bought the comfort ALK, I wonder if there is a difference between the sport and comfort?
I can help you on the motor mounts, and you can help me with the ALK.

ah, by the way... When the front door to the house was opened, my cat made her escape... did anybody see her? She's not an outdoor cat, so we're kinda worried...

I didn't see it when I was there. I hope you find her and she's okay.

Next time, I will at least bring a more controllable jack so that you dont need to sweat everytime you need precision movement - I'm used to the newer 3.5 ton craftsman I have at home Unfortunately the only jack we had to work with was Sam's 2 ton jack from his grandfather thats probably several decades old? Yah I was surprised how quickly the install went - Wayne got those motor mount bolts in and out like a pro!!

Damn, that blows. What did the shop tell you that could be the problem? Are you planning to drop by Lic Motorsports again anytime soon? I just ordered something from them and I'm thinking about getting fabrication in the near future.
