So, was anyone else awake for the massive storm this morning? The first few thunderclaps really caught me off guard. I went outside to take a look and see if I could catch some strikes on video, but I changed my mind when I realized I was standing between a light pole and a large tree and the storm was getting closer.

The lightning was really frequent - it seemed like the sky was lighting up every 5 seconds or so. An article I read said we had more than 1000 lightning strikes.

 

i saw some lightning on....tuesday night. it was pretty fun to see. hadn't seen lightning in a while, it feels like

 

Ya those are pretty cool. They're hella cool out here in TX too. We'll see them in the distance and its non-stop at times.

Some cities above Sacramento registered over 700 lighting strikes in one hour. I did wake up and watch it. Mostly cause the thunder woke me up. It was at 1:30am here in Tracy when a cell hit here. The thunder mostly rolled for days. A few loud claps, but the lighting was crazy. Being from back east I know thunder and lighting storms, this one's lighting was the craziest I've seen.

 

yeah, i was in davis when i heard the thunderstorm. i went out the window and watched the lightning flash and our power go out. hahaha.

yea that was so crazy! I cant really remember anything like this in my life. It was something straight out of a movie it seemed like.

For a solid 45mins every 3 seconds there was a flash, then crazy hard rain out of no where. Then it all stopped for a few hours and started up again late at night.

I was at sac raceway when it happened. Pretty crazy everyone was racing down the track and there view in front of them was lightning. It ended at 8.30 when the rain finally hit.

 

Sac lightning was pretty insane. Every 2 seconds it was flashin' and the rumble was pretty close to where I was in south sac.

 

ya, i was talking to one of the shuttle drivers and one of the students at ucsd and they mentioned it only rains around this time, other then that, its sunny and warm. out of all the weeks, had to be the one week i went down there. lolz

other then that, the weather was warm and nice.
