I had a full tank of gas, and probably 50 lbs. of subwoofers in the trunk, and my reaction time sucks at .342. I figure with less gas, no subs and a better reaction time i can hit low 13s, but I'll have to get out there more to work on my reaction time...

anyone else there?
Just to let you know, reaction time doesn't factor into your ET's. The light can turn green and you can sit there for 2 seconds and still not affect your ET. If you want a good reaction time, when the third yellow lights up, go. .500 is a perfect reaction time.

Why is r/t so important is if it doesn't affect your ET?

sorry i'm having trouble understanding why it doesn't effect the time. in eliminations it has to effect your time, because if i sit at the line for 2 seconds before i leave the other guy will get down to the end before me and win (assuming he doesn't go below dial in).

like justin said your r/t has nothing to do with the e/t. The clock doesnt start until you start going. The only time r/t may be important is if your not racing in a bracket race type event and you want to beat the guy next to you. Post of your 60 ft times. Thats the time you want to get lower, i bet your 60 ft's were around 2.0-2.1 judging by the times you got.

hey. how'd you guys do?

hmm.. 2.0 is sorta high for a mid-low 14 sec run. unless that car hauls major a$$ later on, i think ya need to have in the 1s to have a good low 14 sec run.

bracket... i hate it so much...

Yeah, I almost got tagged by a motorcycle cop on 37, and had a 50/50 chance of a CHP pulling me over on 580. Instead he picked the SUV in front of me. There was at least 6 CHP's on 580 between 80 and 101.

I posted a complete thread on the other site of my day, including all runs and UTEC logs associated with them:

http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showth...threadid=59650

Here's my best of the day. I was getting knock on every run, and it was pulling A LOT of timing, so it was killing my trap speeds. Without that knock my car would have ran close to a 12 second 1/4 mile. Oh yeah, and a proper launch

R/T .479
60' 1.987
330' 5.620
1/8th 8.649 @ 81.43 MPH
1000' 11.226
1/4th 13.455 @ 100.87 MPH

Actually, during the practice runs r/t doesn't effect your ETs. When you are bracket racing, it can affect whether you win or lose. But only if you and the other car are that close to your dial in. The car beside me one time won simply because his reaction time was .546 and mine was .550. We were both .2 seconds above our dial in. So at that point it came down to reaction time.

Actually, this year, NHRA went with the 0 light. If you get a .001 light, that is perfect. I didn't red light once last night. I just couldn't launch the car at all. I have to practice some more.

No, here's a little info on it:

It actually has nothing to do with the LED thing. The NHRA was confusing the new audience with stuff like a .400 being perfect. They have changed that at almost all of the NHRA tracks. Also, the way they announce the reactions on TV is with the new way. Now .000 is perfect. -.001 is red and the like. So shoot for that .0001. It is out there.
The LED did not change anything with timing. Just the way the driver sees the light. The eye sees the yellow faster and thus the human aspect is reacted quicker. That is the change.
