Remove ic pipes (you can leave the core on, i did and they didnt say one word)
put back on the following parts

intercooler
bov
inlet unless yours is black
stock air box
stock turboback
stock header

you can leave the turbo as it looks like stock, leave the injectors as it looks stock (they only look at the rails really), leave the pulley as it looks stock, and you dont really have to worry about the ecutek but just dont floor the car since its not tuned for the stock parts you just put back on really.

header you need to have stock as they will fail you for an aftermarket one. uppipe they wont be able to see really so thats fine. what they check for is stock intake system, stock cat under the car, stock o2 sensors.

which state ref did u go to? i know theres on in alameda, but where are the other ones located?

Yep very true.

Ave I HIGHLY suggest you go to this one. May be a further drive but you'll thank yourself in the end by avoiding picky **** ref's. You won't deal with much bs if you go to Alameda.

Sucks about your ordeal man. My old car got me a trip to the ref @ wyotech, and then I got pulled over on my way back home from the ref, after I received my CARB BAR Compliance for having a 95db or less car. Cop in Fremont gave me another fix it ticket still, had to go to court and get it thrown out, stupid judge still made me pay $20 lol. Good luck, seems like you have a lot of good peeps in our community that are willing to help out. I am mechanically inclined, so if you need my help don't be afraid to holla at me.

Man that sucks! All I have to say is join the club, if cops ever do tell me to pop my hood, I'll just tell them that my latch is broken. They are not popping my hood, cause there is nothing stock about my car. In fact the loudest an exhaust can get is 96.5db or 95db +/- 1.5db. I hope you get things sorted out.

Ave,
I just ordered a breaker bar, and some wrenches.
I have everything else already we need.
Just let me know the date your due at the ref and when you want to come by and wrench away.
I suggest talking with Moike ahead of time to find out what is needed to get you a stockish tune on the VF34.

Couldn't you just pay a fine on this one and let it go? It might be easier that way...and cheaper.

so is there an update on this??? i have a question also. is there a way to pass smog with vf34/pump/pinks without detuning? there has to be a way to have a fast smog legal car. i miss hawaii even more now that i found out i need smog for my first CA registration. has anybody legally passed smog with the vf34 setup? im not sure how much help the high flow cats would be but for all you smog guru's out there would that help?
