I really like your current car, and you can get more power out of it for pretty cheap. I just did the VF43 swap and got tuned and it's a whole new car, take it for a spin if you'd like. The engine and stock turbo in our cars are identical.
For an old-style STi, a white limited would be awesome. Otherwise, the '08s are nice and would have room for the dog. I'd wait for the '09s to come out though.
Of course money is a big factor.

i like the 05's too, i'd say get one, because if you still have it in 10 years, it will be cooler than the 08 i would think.

im keeping my 07 and doin a 6spd swap. I test drove the 08 STi and it feels completely different than the 05 STi I drove. I really just want a 6spd
