Browning BAR in the aforementioned .270

Can't go wrong with the good old Remington 700, either.

Does the moissen Nagant satisfy that fetish?

My grandfather just got one for 99 bucks and put it into a sweet monte carlo stock for another 79 bucks, then had some gunsmithing done to clean it up and smooth out the action.

That leaves what another $2300 for optics...LOLOLOLOL

I hunt variety of animals and have found my Reminton 742 Woodsman chambered in 30-06 to be the best all around weapon. By varying the weight of the bullet and loads it works well on anything from coyotes to elk. But the best gun is the one that is used on a regular basis.

I have 2 of them. I got them on sale at Big 5 for $79 each. One I "sporterized" with a monte-carlo stock, bent the bolt and put on a scope my uncle gave me.

The other I left original.

Yeah they look pretty sweet when you put the monte carlo on them almost like a completely different rifle. I really like them and you cannot beat the price...

WHOA!!! That's your sister??? Clearly you got hit with the ugly stick!

.22LR is the only rifle you need; use it to kill plenty of food(except bear, and really, only folks with small wieners kill bear), use it to kill your opponent and take their weapon, etc.

I don't think a 22LR will do much of anything past 300 yards... And even at close range you have to get lucky with a head shot (not just a head shot, but a lucky headshot) to take your opponent down. Cops don't use 22LR for a reason. lol

Killing a dear with a 22LR would be interesting to say the least.

Reminds me of the guy on Gunatics.com who tried to take down a buffalo at 100 yards with an AR-15! He learned the hard way and had to empty the entire magazine into the thing, even then it didn't die instantly and suffered.

.308 is my fav round behind .300 WinMag, but .300WM is way too expensive and rare.

Clearly. And my favorite gun to shoot hands down is an old Remington 22LR pump that belonged to my great grandpa. He payed $4 for it brand new and it's insanely accurate.
