if you like your paint and windshield intact...

stay the hell off of 101N, south of SFO, right now.

i have been cringing the past few days because, as per usual, the freeway is covered with rocks and tar chips since they started the repaving.

since the beginning of the week, i have found 3 huge chips in my hood already. also, i watched a slow-moving rock fly from the wheel of the SUV in front of me and smack my subi in the windshield. i am now the proud owner of a HUGE crack that, of course, will need to be fixed ASAP.

i love pissing away a couple hundred dollars for a new windshield.

\rant.

or is it /rant? not sure.

I hate that. I have thousands of pits in my winsheild from from rocks being kicked up by other cars. Everytime someone changes lanes in front of me I seem to get hit with one. The gravel trucks are the worst, also noted in my traffic creators thread.

Sorry about your winsheild. I got lucky with mine, it looks like a bullet wound but not cracked across.

My crack is HUGE and ding where the rock hit is ridiculous.... i dont even think it was a rock i think it was a huge metal bolt/nut that hit the windshield

The day after i got my windshield replaced on my old truck i was on that part of 101 and some huge lifted truck flew past me going like 95+ and flung a ton of crap at my truck with his un-needed mud tires and broke my brand new windsheild. Thank god for insurance.

Bras? Deflectors?

You guys are lucky that physical objects are bouncing up and cracking your windshields, My windshield was cracked from a random bump in the mountains...

Are you sure the bump wass not one of the kids that was running from the pedo van and you ran them over after they threw a rock at you?

ouch to all...guess this is not new news.

i'm thinking the same thing Shagon...it was not a normal rock. i saw it flug at me in slow motion and when it hit, it felt like i nailed a speedbump at 50mph. plus, it instantly spidered instead of pitting like the rest of the holes in my windshield...

Yikes! glad I didn't go to Abyss last nite.

I remember once I was driving down 280 @ Westborough in DC and this 240z literally lost its driveshaft in the slow lane.
