the camera does not make the photographer.
it helps... but in the end, you gotta know what you're doing.
i contemplated getting the 1Ds MkII also. but then again, i look when the last time i took out my 10D and reality hit me... lol...

i have to 300D i've been using for about a year now... then my cousin suggested I get a lens
my camera:

my 1 lens:

its really amazing what a difference that lens made.
but now my 300d is having issues... i think it must have been dropped 1 too many times... and there's a flap inside... anyways... the shutter is not functioning properly... it sometimes gets stock open... and a part of the shutter is getting "hung" and its blocking the pix:
example:
but sometimes it actually works:
(this is the last working shot)
fixable u think? that's why i started looking around for a replacement and found that ridiculously priced "box only" camera

why is it important to have high ISO, i always get jacked pictures whenever I get my ISO higher than say 200+... like, really crappy pix turns out.
i take mostly standing shots of cars...

but otherwise, no big changes... well until the big show in april... that's when canon usually introduce the new models.

buy a "fast" prime lens:

buy a great steady tripod does wonders for stills. maybe even a remote sutter.

The higher your ISO, the less light you will need for a good exposure, but the more grainy your shots will be. If you have enough light, shoot at the lowest ISO you can. If you don't have a tripod and don't want to use the flash, sometimes you have to up the ISO and live with the results. Photoshop plugins like Noise Ninja help get rid of some of the high iso nastyness.
or so i've heard..

the canon L glass are the tops. and in this case, you get what you pay for.but now my 300d is having issues... i think it must have been dropped 1 too many times... and there's a flap inside... anyways... the shutter is not functioning properly... it sometimes gets stock open... and a part of the shutter is getting "hung" and its blocking the pix:

if not, take the lens out. look inside and see if something can be done.
