Some people shouldn't be given a driving license. That really sucks. I feel sorry for the little girls family>

Hmmm, maybe handing out driver's licenses without actually making an individual prove they can drive isn't such a good idea...

Yeah, no joke. Can you imagine how devastating it would be to lose a child in such a horrible and needless way? Beyond belief.

But we have to remember that everybody makes mistakes...I am sure it was an accident, and she paniced...

Smart...NO...forgivable...in time...

I am liberal in this aspect......it pays to be independant...you can think for yourself.

EVERYBODY DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE...fine and time...yes...lifetime of condemnment...no...

She is just a kid guys...

Would you be so nice if it was your daughter that was mowed down because some girl didn't care to pay attention when she was driving?

I know you're going to say yes and try to act very honorable but I sincerely doubt you would have such mercy if this were to happen to you in real life. Then again, I've never met you and I don't know you.

Do I think she should be forever condemned? No. She will have to live with the fact that she killed an innocent person because she had her head up her ***. That in itself seems pretty harsh and I know it's something that I would have a hard time dealing with.

Do I think she should get time? Yes, but not in maximum security.

But what do you tell the family of the girl? I guess there's not much you can really do. You could be mad at the girl who did it, but as long as you know that the event has scarred her for life, I don't know that you could ask for more punishment.

Now if the girl showed no signs of sorrow, then of course you go for the jugular and try to put her in prison for the rest of her life, but I can't imagine many people not being affected by an event such as this.

What we should all take away from this is a very important lesson:
Don't put yourself in a situation where you could do this to some one. Whether it be driving after a few beers or even just talking on your cell phone while driving, think about the power (and responsibility) you have when you get behind the wheel of a car.

The really dispicable part is going to class instead of stopping. That's just horrible. I believe I could forgive teh accident eventually if it were my family, but I would never forgive fleeing the scene. THAT was no accident. That is cowardly.

Yes, I forgot to mention that. That truly is atrocious.

Then again, she probably was in shock. I'm not trying to make excuses by any means but I doubt she thought she was going to get away with it.

Oh god I feel like a defense attorney.
