This just happend in Sac within the last 6 months or so. I think they were PG&E employees or something like that.
Got them on tape day after day drinking, not just on their lunch break, but ON THE JOB and WHILE DRIVING and heading to the strip club while on the clock

And it wasnt PG&E, it was Department of Water and Power

Im typically all for unions but the UAW without a doubt typifies everything thats wrong with giant powerful unions, and to a certain degree the American labor force in general. They havent changed how theyve operated since the end of WW2. They still think they are simply entitled to make TWICE the average of what car makers in other countries (AND twice what non-union car makers here in America for Honda and Toyota are happy to make) simply because they have a union and thats how its always been.
I remember before the bailouts one of the spokesmen for the UAW was on CNN and they were talking about how important the auto industry was to the US and why the bailout was needed yada yada. The reporter asked him if they did give them the bailout would they consider working for less, the spokesman just gave a quizical look and said "uh, no?" like it never even crossed his mind.
These guys live in a bubble! the best thing that could have happened was they go into chapter 11 and restructure with a new workforce. Hell dont even get me started.
Oh and if you really want to be pissed, heres also what our bailout funded union dues pay for. They said under pressure earlier this year they were selling it, now thay feel the heat has died down so it has quietly been taken off the auction block. Enjoy!

Hey bub, your use of the "Union YES!" slogan seems to indicate that all unions are bad, and share resposiblity for this car companies financial burden they've laid on us . I cant speak for the car makers union but I believe unions in general are good. Health care and retirement benifits are great, average joes can actually get a decent paying job etc. Like has been said before, this is an isolated group of people, and does not represent their average employee. I work with *******'s who pull simmilar sh*t, but why is that the unions fault. if you wanna talk about what "drove America into the ground" then lets bring up the investment banker scandals and Subprime lending (of whom are not unions I might add) and others that contributed far more to our economic situation then some union employees drinking on their lunch break.
