I've got a show at The Caravan in San Jose on Saturday night.
If you're in town, I guarentee you won't have more fun for less money. There's no cover charge and drinks are cheap!
Come down my group "One Over Eight" is very Alice in Chains-ish
The other Band "The Shakers" is coming up from LA... really solid group and the lead singer is a seriously hot chick.

How does the Caravan book good bands
The Caravan is the only real rock club left in SJ. Everyone else runs DJ's or Salsa on the weekends.
Caravan staff are easy to work with and respectful. There are some "Promoters"* in the Bay Area who book a lot of the other venues. These folks are more trouble than they are worth.
* Note, I don't consider working the door and getting drunk at a show "promotion". Promotion would involve flyers, a website and press-releases etc
Frankly the place is fun to play.

The caravan books lots of cool bands. Reminds me of the old days. Just right in your face. The place gets super packed. No stage. LOUD because it's small and it's really like playing in a garage. LOL! 2 of my buddies bands just played there so I'm not knocking it. Can Toker and the Rivals... woot!
It's just sad to me that they are able to get such good bands because there are so few places to play these days.
If I didn't have so much going on I'd be down to come out and support you guys. Should be fun.
Oh... and you're dead right. I'm tired of "promoters" that don't do ****. They book the bands and make all these promises then blame it on the bands when 18 people show up because not a single flyer, face book, email announcement was made. Promoting shows correctly is a tough gig. Hell the last one I did was at a church and we still pulled over 150 people. LOL! (with a mormon band, 2 christian bands and a non christian band)
Man that was a long time ago.

Come to the show goddammit!
I'd put up a photo of my band, but I know you'd rather look at Jodie from the Shakers
