Problem Solved. Thank you all
I have a bit of a dilemma with my 2002 WRX here. I had just got out of class and on my way home which is about 1 hour 10 mins. taking a few highways and some soads. Anyway, I noticed that my power steering was going off and on. This scared the heck out of me because I could not steer the car that well when the power steering was gone, not to mention all the heavy rain and traffic at night. So, my windshield wipers were slowing down, my clock was dimming, the ABS light came on, and also the battery icon appeared. (This was about half way home, btw.) I was getting scared, but did manage to keep my cool and as I was approaching the main streets, my headlights go out and my car started jerking a little as I hit the gas. Thank God that I made it home to my driveway just before my car shut down. Does anyone know what might have caused this. I`m at least hoping that it`s just the car battery dying on me and that`s all. I would appreciate anyone`s help.
TIA
TIA

Definately sounds electrical. It could be the alternator or a short caused by water damage. Check your fuses to see if anything it blown.
Thanks

^^This as well as take a look/check the connectors on the alternator as well as all the body ground points. I am talking out of my **** here (mind the breath) but on my Toyotas sometimes water would get into this plug and make the car act haunted. I don't know what this plug looks like on Subies, but it's worth checking anyway. Also had issues with a corroded ground that was made worse with water.

If you can charge the battery fully and limp the car over here tomorrow I can test everything for you.
As everyone else has mentioned I would check the drive belt and connections first though. If you have a decent multimeter you can check the outputs.

PS has nothing to do with the electrical... you may have another issue there.
I betting you have a belt is worn out and is "skipping" off when it gets wet or streches. If the alternator has a bad bearing, I could see how it could cause this too.
If you buy a belt get one directly from Subaru, none of the aftermarkets I have found are the correct length
Let us know what you find

It seems like the alternator to me. There is a bolt that holds the wire from teh battery to the alternator. If thats loose, that can cause a problem too. Dont worry if it is the alternator, though. that is a piece of cake to swap out. Its the first thing in the engine bay
