cheapest way to ship it would be to drive it to new york!

It's one hell of a trip, I would recommend it to anyone who likes to drive.

you can pay me to drive it for you... but you would have to pay me and pay for the plane ticket back

Done that. Reverse though. From New Jersey out here to the bay. Took 4 days.

As far as the question, I have heard it costing upwards of $800.

there you go, give me $800 and I will have the car there in 2 1/2 to 3 days... if you want it there faster you will have to pay more, and pay for the tickets

I have done SF to NY in under 3 days... Having done that, I would highly recommend that you don't do it, you end up driving worse than a drunk soccer mom in a SUV eating a dohunt yakking on the phone while putting on makeup.

LMAO...
but I think that I would be ok... besides it really isn't that much more time behind the wheel than I am doing now.

We had 3 people driving and had to keep stopping to let the 2 dogs out. So we were cool making the drive.

And trust me Jeff, that drive by yourself that fast will drive you nuts. There is absolutely nothing from Wyoming to Illinois. And that is a lot of distance.

Amen to that! If you've never had the "fun" of driving thru Iowa (or eastern Nebraska), let me recreate it for you.

Drove it in 2001, driving the Impala from here to Detroit (and back) for a car show. Salt Flats in Utah are cool, PARTS of Utah and Wyoming are unbelievably beautiful, and Iowa.....well, see above

Find a truck driver who does cross state and ask him if he or any of his buds will be coming to the bay and going back empty if so they will bring it for a few Bens.

I have done it 3 times alone...coast to coast that is...

Totaled 1 car, hit a deer on another trip. The worst section is between El Paso, and San Antonio...on the lower route (I-10)

I drove from Pensacola to Albaqurqie without stopping! And from Alba...to Fresno non-stop...

It is tough to do alone...
