i have done it once, never again.. i knew they were compressed so i pushed hard down while the strut bottom sat on the floor. it sprung up quick, but no one was hurt.. he said they are already taken apart so he wont need the compressor if they are aftermarket springs.. aftermarket springs also dont spring up as hard as oem **** when you take them back off..

actually my jdm sti pink springs dont bounce up at all while im taking them off.. well maybe a lil, but im putting so much weight down on them just in case that i can't tell..

????? taking the springs out is the easy part, they do fly out but it wasnt a problem for me to avoid it. i just set it on the floor, hold the bottom part with my left foot, face the tophat towards a wall, get my impact gun and loosen it, the back of the gun is only about ~6inches away from the wall. the spring pops out and the wall stops it.

now, putting it in without a compressor is a whooooole different story.
i've done it without it for my cobb springs, took two people 10 minutes for one of the front and 30 minutes for the other, rears are easy, one person.

knocking noise so i decided to reassemble everything and the first thing i did was go buy a spring compressor.
btw, i think it was scoo_b that knows where to get the springs installed on the struts.

i'll help you out no problem, let me know when and where

I'd highly suggest using a spring compressor to put that stuff together. Makes life a lot simpler.
