i need a car for a week (north bay)

As many of you know my beautiful car went into a ditch, thanks to a river of oil streaming down the middle of the road. The shop says that they are going to need the car for about 1 week. To my suprize they are not giving me a "rent a car" to get me by. They say it's not in my policy. Anyways, i live about 15 miles from where i work and am left with only a bicycle for transportation. Which completely sucks. If any of you out there knew someone or someplace where i can get a good deal on a "lend a car" could you please contact me.

I feel like a total bumb asking you, my subaru friends for help but don't know where else to look.

thanks
-rich

p.s: feel free to poke fun at me for this request.

seriously....I thought that was integrated into all insurance policies.....if your car is in the shop, they will cover your rent a car for X amount of days/upto X $. Maybe I am wrong...but I would definitely call your insurance broker and ask him/her directly.....there are alot of crooked shops out there that would pocket the dinero....not saying this place will....but its better to be safe than sorry. Otherwise....let your fingers do the walking....I have heard of places like "rent-a-wreck" where you can rent a jaloppy for like $15-20 or so just to get you by. I would check into that.

good luck.

P.S. everyone needs a little help every now and again....so dont be embarrassed about asking your friends to help out if they can. Isht happens

actually, if you dont have it now, ask your INS CO, if you can add today.

it costs like a few $$$, like $10 or 20 added to the list of items on my bill...

rich, unfourtunately I just sold my "beater" or I would have been more than happy to let you roll around in it. I'll see if i can swing something for you though, my uncle has some cars but most of them need a lot of work and I wouldn't want to lend you something you'd have to worry about.
