I'll try that logic the next time I get pulled over. I follow most other laws so cut me a break and its creating a huge inconvenience so just let me go. Yeah right, that will work.

 

Thats rediculous, they are illegal, why should they be allowed to stay here. They are effictively giving illegal aliens the right to drive without a liscense or insurance. I think they should set up illegal alien checkpoints.

 

its a tough topic politacally because there is a large amount of latino's in oakland, which is why this even hit the news, obviously in hillsborough this would never happen...

a problem i see, is if oakland stops these checkpoints, who's next? san jose with its vietnamese community around bascom? or what about fresno? i mean i've been through many of these checkpoints and they never asked me for my drivers license...they usually check for seatbelts and look at your posture / appearance as if u had anything to drink

but still... it is a toss up because leaving kids stranded on the sidewalk ( which is probably a rare occasion ) is a sad thing to happen when the whole point of these checkpoints is to stop drunk driving.

but what happens when a illegal immigrant hits a drunk driver and both die? kinda like killing to birds with one stone dontcha think?

YOU DONT GET TO DRIVE!!!! what is so hard to deal with. if i went to mexico and lived their illegally i wouldnt expect to drive legally there if i did and i got caught, i wouldnt play it out like this bs, its my own damn fault for driving illegally. this is just like when i was younger, i took my motorcycle on the street when i didnt have a lience, luckily i didnt get pulled over, but if i did it would be my own fault. not the police for doin their job and protecting lives. this kinda stupid **** pisses me off. if they dont like our laws so much and how we enforce them, then why are they in our country if theirs is soooo much better.

oakland is full of dumass imiigrants who complain about everything. two years ago they were complaing that the high school exit exam was unfair and too hard. Its only hard if your a ****ing idiot.

I swear oakland mexicans can't drive for ****. saw one lady try to make a left turn on a red light. tsk tsk. Wat has the world come to.

 

i live down in the salinas area and i am with you on both. i passed the exit exam when i had mono, was half asleep and druged out of my mind because of something else i had, and i passed it with no problem. and about the how horrible most of them are at driving. on the highway they are either going 55 in a 75 in the FAST lane or they are doin 40 in a 75 in the slow lane, during rush hour, with tons of big rigs trying to pass them, in a car that is wither riced out beyond believe or is falling apart and smokin like a b!@#h. im not racist, i have alot of friends that are mexican i just cant stand it when this type of **** happens

 

agreed on the illegal driving, if you're here illegally and complain that you can't drive, use the f-ing public transportation.
