I knew this would happen.........

I was driving to San Francisco last night for a first date, with this girl I have been interested in for some time. ( needless to say, I was excited)

Crusing on 101 doing between 70 and 80 mph. Just before Sausalito, that familiar blue and red appears. First time in seven years for me. Oh yeah, it pays to be cooperative with the man. He knew I had been doing 80+ plus. He was getting off the freeway in Corte Madera, and saw me fly-by. He got back on and really had to get on it to catch up. He eventually paced me at 70-75mph. He was nice enough to reduce it to 65 in a 55.

I knew this car would get me in some trouble. Traffik skool for me, though I will try to pull a few strings with a CHP neighbor of my father. It would be nice to get it dropped, if I'm lucky.

Gotta get some sleep now. Off to Sears point in the mornin for some track time.
Gotta see how the swaybars and brake lines improved the beast.

nighty night ya'll

Yeah, that 55mph zone is silly. No reason for it not to be 65. You might try arguing Prima Facie in court, and check to see if the speed survey is up to date and correctly done. Both are unlikely to be the case.

Yawwwwwn...Damn it's cold

I actually think the speed study will show 55 for that area. People seem to have a hard time merging in that area. It's difficult to change lanes in a H2 with your latte, cell phone, bran muffin, morning newspaper, child managing, taking priority over watching the road

What did the girl say about all this?
Not much. I wasn't angry about getting ticketed. I wasn't late for my date, so I forgot about it till later that night. Like I said, I was excited...

Probably was a good thing. I'll be slowing down in that area, and other's for a while.
I knew it was bound to happen sooner or later. Oh yeah, the cop was really cool. The officer told me that he reduced the speed charge because I was so cooperative. He said he knew what the car was, and had been looking at them. I told him I knew a good dealer, he said his wife wouldn't allow him

doh, that's RS TURBO calling me to make sure I woke up to go to the track. Gotta go.

had a close call too.

driving south on 680 by milpiltas.

late for a meeting. so i was "flying" with respect to my style, at around 80'ish.

traffic was smooth and free and a chp pulls out in front me. guess he paced me from the front. we were both in the fast lane.

first he starts hitting his brakes. i didnt get it at first. so i maintained my speed.

then he starts to flash his lights. i noticed no one in front of him.

DOH!!!!

i get the message and slow down... fortunately my exit was about 60 seconds away so quickly merge to the slow lane and get off the freeway...

whew......

So far I've been pretty lucky. I almost got popped on July 4 this year doing 90+ in a 65. Cop was parked behind a bush off the freeway and I blew past him in the fast lane. Fortunately I got to the next exit and off the freeway before he saw me get to the next exit and off the freeway. I saw him fly by probably looking for me while I was changing my shorts in the park and ride off the freeway

I was going faster, he was nice enough to write down a lower speed violation.
