The cloth seats on BART told an entirely different story: tests of the seats on BART revealed fecal and skin borne bacteria that were also resistant to antibiotics.
The test also found at least nine different strains of bacteria and several types of mold on the seat.
And even after the cushion was cleaned with an alcohol wipe strains of harmful bacteria were still present.
BART was planning to update its fleet of cars and officials admit the change is needed.

The same can be said about the money we handle every day as well, and money is probably 100 times worse, so not only fecal matter but also every kind of powder drug and who knows what else.

by the way, if you can believe it, the study shows that oakland has the 2nd cleanest cars!
that's why i don't eat off my seats (except for the occasional fry or m&m that falls through my lap!
) but seriously, that's why we have an immune system. some of these stories are just to scare you and to get you to watch the news that night (i.e. do cell phones cause brain tumors? tune in at 11!). how in the world we survived this long without anti-bacterial hand gel is a mystery!

If this really bothers you, then you should live in a stainless steel box and wear an air suit everywhere. Seriously, you would be horrified what could be found in your house, your car, or even/especially on your face. Heaven forbid you share your space with another living creature.
