They also said that only one tazor prog hit him... which could be why it didn't affect him much.
But still.. Pepper spray or a baton would have fixed that.
Idiot cop! God!

Yeah, he had OC spray, why not use that too instead of the ****ing taser? This cop is more than likely one of those cowboy types who wanted to join the force just so he can pull his gun out and shoot somebody. Well he obviously was a pu.ssy without his gun.

that cop must be a ****ing *****.... what the ****!? I would have liked to read in the newspaper "Cop Gets Attacked by Lunatic. Lunatic Taken Down by Bystander as Officer is Nursed by Starbucks Attendant".....
On a side note... it would be pretty cool if there were some ninja cops out there (alright... so i'm a little delirious)

First off, I think it sucks that the guy got killed. But since none of you guys were there it seems silly to second guess the cop. It is very difficult to figure out what happened from the stories I have read. His friends say the cop blew him away for no reason and the cops say he was unaffected by the taser and attacked the cop. I would expect his friends to say he was doing nothing wrong and I expect the cops to say he was attacking the cop. The story, as usual will be somewhere in the middle, we will have to wait and see what the real story is.

Keep ^^^ story in mind the next time you get pulled over.
BANG!
Officer: I shot him because he was reaching for a gun
Passenger: Dude, you ask him for his driver's license. He was getting it out of his pocket.
Driver: Dead
Officer: oh.
How far fetched is that from the Starbucks story?

When they are getting their *** beat, that's an excuse for deadly force? I'm sorry but that cop should be put in a rack and given a little stretch, or break out some horses an quarter his ***. I generally don't have problems with police, and appreciate a few of them, but there are always the bad apples out there, and this cowboy was one of them. As others have said, no baton, no pepper spray? So he didn't use all available options before pumping a few rounds ina metally disturbed man? What a freaking PUNK. I'm always amazed at stuff like this, "oh I thought he had a gun", "oh I tried everything else I could", there's always some lame *** excuse as to why they shot and killed an innocent person. Yeah the guy was beating his ***, the cop couldn't run away to a better vantage point and try the tazer again, or possibly his pepper spray, or wait here's a thought, actually learn how to aim and shoot the guy in the leg??? I only have basic military training with a baton and I could lay the average unarmed man to the ground with ease, yet this putz couldn't try that, "oh here let me shoot him in the chest".
Pardon the rambling but this crap pisses me off.

Thank you MP! This guys straight got what he deserved! First you guys **** and moan how F'd up San Jose gangstas are when they try and scare the bejesus out of one of our fellow members, then you bash a cop for shooting a fing criminal trying to BEAT HIM WITH A CHAIR! You guys were all to quick to rely on the SJPD in saying "oh, I hope they caught those guys!", now you want to bash them? These cops put with a lot of **** that would make most of you **** your pants! i.e. dude in our club RUNS from these thugs, and rightfully so, because they are looking to beat the snot out of him. What did the cops do? CHASE AFTER THEM! Baton him the dude beating on the cop? Are you on crack? Chair= much larger than a baton. These people risk their lives so that you are safer, and then you say you hope they get shot when they were just defending themselves?! Crazy...

A big, tasered, angry, violent, guy kicking your *** = fear for my well being. Self defence is the last resort. Just my 2 cents...
I see them harassing school kids in front of coffee shops for spitting, while some jack off ricer almost hits someone. Or a cop seeing some guy road raging in plain site in oposite lane that screatches to a halt, gets out of his truck and gets a bat from the back of his truck to go hit the older porsche in front of him. What does the cop in front of me do with everyone and their mother turning around to see whats happening? honking their horns? The cop turns his head and keeps going straight.
I don't think that all SJPD are bad, but from what I've seen, and the way I was treated when I was robbed, I have no respect for them. I could have a burglar in my home and it would take them hours to get to me. meanwhile they would be eating donuts and drinking coffee down the street.
Anyways, no mean to steal the thread. I hope that cop loses his job and is chased out of SJ by a mafia.
And remember to wear your bullet proof vest and swat gear when going to starbucks, the cops that drink coffee all day on the job may use you for target practice.

Basically, you need to put the officer at ease. Keep your hands in clear view, either on the steering wheel and/or reaching up to turn on the dome light in the car if it is night time. When the officer approaches, tell him where your license and registration are before reaching for anything. Cops are only human, and if you put them at ease when getting pulled over, it's a win-win.
As for this guy getting shot at Starbuck's, I need more information. On one hand, I don't have any sympathy for a maniac attacking a uniformed officer with his fist, a chair or anything else. Stupid move, and he deserves what happens. On the other hand, based on the story, the officer did not need to use lethal force. I wasn't there, I'm sure a jury will be deliberating on this cops fate. I hope that the force does not distort facts or evidence in an effort to protect their fellow officer.

Are you insane? Seriously. I can tell you the easiest way to not get shot while at Starbucks, and you won't even have to spend mony on a vest. DON'T SWING A CHAIR AT A F'ING COP! You act as though the cop just went in there for target practice ignoring the fact that some low life was trying to hurt them. Call the SJPD lazy if you want, but for the love of Christ, don't go around thinking they are looking to kill people like you and I... unless you have some swing a chair at a cop fetish.

You have to keep in mind that the person was mentally ill. People that are mentally ill don't always know what they are doing is wrong, or they act heavily on emotion.
Not to say that crazy people should roam free causing trouble, but police officers should have some sort of training to deal with life threatening situations. In my opinion, the cop responded the way a gun packin gang member would with shooting multiple times. That my friend is the intent to kill.
There is also a difference between people that know they are doing wrong, but just don't give a ****, and people that know better but act upon emotions, and react from chemical imbalances.
I didn't hear anything about this guy hurting anyone else at the shop, but im sure when he saw an authoritative figure (the cop), he felt the need to protect himself.
I don't know the whole story, but I dont agree with the decision the officer made.
Isn't self control, and judgement something that is tested in police academy?
Any SJPD on the board that can comment?

here is an excerpt from the SJ Merc article. Seems this guy might have had a propensity to go after cops.
In 2002, Bojcic was arrested by Concord police after he tried to reclaim his Honda, which had been seized in a drunken-driving investigation. After learning his impounded car had been sold, Bojcic shattered the windows of a patrol car with a four-foot piece of lumber and smashed a side window with a slab of concrete from a nearby construction site, according to news accounts at the time. A records search showed that Bojcic had been cited or charged at least six times in Contra Costa County beginning in 1996.
