I-Club Project STi

Hi all.

Just wanted to point this out to everyone.

https://www.i-club.com/forums/subaru-general-30/i-club-project-sti-164868/

Personally, I think it is an idea that won't work. Mainly because I don't think it'll represent the I-Club community. I guess you can read my opinion in that thread.

To the mods: Sorry about the cross posting, but I think this is an important topic that attention should be brought to.

Jesus, can you all be a little more negative? The guys running the site are trying to build a dope car, and trot it out at events to help grow the site. I'm at a complete loss to see how you can consider that a bad thing. Charles has also expressed interest in doing a GC build at some point.

Who says a single car has to "represent a community"?
SubieSport did an RS build, and a Legacy build, and noone *****ed that they "didn't represent the community".

I really don't understand you guys sometimes. Are you really trying to say you can't appreciate one of the admins building a car with nice parts and using it to promote the club?

so whats the big deal? i dont see how it would be a bad thing? why dont we just let them build what they want?

its not like we, join date 2005/2006 have to worry about the i-club named being damaged as if it were our own money-making business.

Im looking forward to anything, even if they churned out a pimp-my-ride STi at least youd get a good laugh.

WTF, I love the idea someone wants to promote I-club. Even better, they are going to use their own car, money, time, blood sweat and tears to promote this place.

You don't buy a subaru to get chicks, unless you are a chick (lesbaru).

I don't understand... Are you saying if you saw the STI on the street with i-club propaganda all over it, you would be offended because it doesn't represent your views? It's an Impreza.

After reading what you wrote, it sounds like i-club should be represented by a stock 2008 2.5i or STi? Or a 1993 Impreza L? I always thought that Alex's hopped up 02 WRX was the iconic car for this site. I thought that Impreza represented us well, Cusco labeling and all.

darkonion, I appreciate your concern and passion for iclub, but I disagree with you.

there are already plenty of mods that have built cars that promote i-club. Sounds to me like it's just some sort of a tax writeoff thing or something. But yeah, again, like I said, this site has definately changed, and people get remarks like this when they express their opinions.

I was thinking he should do something along the lines of a sponsorship of cars. I would definately pay attention to 10 cars at a track day with an i-club sticker on them than I would 1 car with an i-club sticker...

and I'm not trying to start an argument, so before you start with the heated long winded response, just remember this is just my opinion. (=

Ouchie.

Well... my L is kind of cursed not to mention the abuse from the last 10 years.

I won't deny that I am not a postwhore... or at least someone that is moving that direction. I guess everyone misinterpretted my threads. I wasn't trying to pick up chicks or complain. At the time of the day, the forums were a little slow and I had trouble staying focused for finals. I figure that I could try to lighten the mood and start a fun thread that people could participate in. I promise you all that I am working on a few threads that will be useful to everyone.

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Personally, I think the Project STi is something that maybe not represent the I-Club community. I think a fellow member stated that if there is indeed a project car, he would like to see that the community has a voice in what is done to it.

That's the way I think of it anyways.

Why won't a SUBARU Impreza STi represent the Impreza Club?

Just trying to understand in all honesty. We all own different models of the Impreza, but they are all Impreza's. Now if they were doing a project EVO I would be with you, but from where I sit this doesn't makes sense and appears to be a gripe about nothing to make it appear like you are taking the alternate stance in regards to the topic.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. Maybe I can elaborate a little more on my views. Certain individuals have certain tastes. What would you think if the owners of the "I-Club" STi decided to put two hot pink racing stripes down the middle, or put on a triple decker wing on the trunk?

As far as I know... I haven't seen anyone here on I-Club with pink racing stripes or a triple decker wing.

Just my two cents. Off to finals for me.
