I'm taking a 16mm film class and have a treatment due tomorrow. Anybody have any ideas for a good story. I'd like to actually make the short and keep it at about 5-6 mins

In case you don't know, a treatment is a piece of prose, typically the step between scene cards (index cards) and the first draft of a screenplay for a motion picture. It is generally longer and more detailed than an outline (or one-page synopsis) and shorter and less detailed than a step outline, but it may include details of directorial style that an outline omits. They read like a short story.

Here is one concept I turned in last week.

Cpl. Johnson is a US Marine part of the 1st Marine Division. His team is under heavy fire from Insurgents of Iraq. The team is over run and captured. The US government denies any captures to the public. Top secret debates go on if they should go in and bring the Marines home or deny everything and forget they exist.


Heres another one I just thought of
(Horror) - While making a beer run four teenage party animals find themselves propelled into an apocalyptic nightmare when they accidentally drive through a dimensional vortex.

 

i like the second one.

i will gladly partake in the filming of that movie in my WRX!!!!

your last idea sounds like that one movie... bill n teds ultimate adventure or bogus adventure.

You'll need a vortex generator, possibly off the roof of an Evo.

 

how about a movie about i-club .....

 

looks like the beer run is the favorite... I wish I was still in the area, I would totally love to be apart of this and help out.

it would turn out to be meets every week and people standing around talking..

 

Well I need a complete story first.

Starting with some characters...

Keith, a car freak

Renee, a raven-haired wild child with an IQ of 193

Kenny Boy, the weed fiend, stoner supreme

 

Ya add some cheesy dialog and conflict and some kind of goal and there's a movie in there somewhere...

 

The movie could be done from a Caapitol, BBQ/LeMans, meet.
