That's a pretty accurate description of my situation too, I was way into cycling and stuff until I started driving the WRX....

 

i got in a major wreck and messed up both wrists so bad i couldn't hold up my own weight against the bars for very long, That lasted almost a year. by then i lost interest

 

For me it was the speed skiing accident, about 6 months of recovery before I could even think about riding, and then I started doing endurance car Rallies.
But I have to admit, I really miss being in shape to pound out a 40-50 mile Tam tour like I could back in the day.....
