I am sure you all know this by now...

but Cobb maps suck ***!! And I don't just mean suck, but they are dangerous. 100% IDC at 5400 RPMs in 3rd gear.

This is a Cali VF-39 map, so it is obviously not meant for long term WOT use. Nevertheless it is good to know, and I thought some of you in similar situations would appreciate the info.

It has me curious about the stage 2 maps....

i feel those are just base maps good to get your car running long enough to make it to a proper dyno tune.

yeah and thise are the revised 01oct maps, the first ones were even worse!

I ran the version two OTS maps when they first came back, not as bad as the first ones butr still too lean. Mike retuned it, dropped 2hp but picked up 20 wtq

You know, it has me curious as to what these cars run like with no map at all...

...it doesn't mean I am going to try it though lol. I think it is important to pass on to others that these maps are NOT to be used long term. I don't know what Cobb's intent is, but I see a lot of people online who run basemaps and do not really understand that they are not the end all tuning solution.

Hell, I know a lot of people who do not even understand what tuning is about, or fuel injected cars even work. They think you can just slap on a big turbo, without matched injectors or adjusting anything, and go make big HP. I laugh and tell them they will spend 4+ times the $$ trying to beat my tuned VF-39

I agree with you.
Most people are internet educated whne it comes to cars, the internal combustion engine, etc.

You have no idea how much money I make fixing mistakes that the DIYer do to their cars.

Typical conversation:

Them: How much $$$ to upgrade w/ tune.
Me: $$$
Them: **** that...I'll do it myself.
Me: Ok. Please give me call when you need a new motor.

A few days/weeks/months pass.

Them: I blew my motor. How much to fix it?
Me: $$$$$$$$$$$.
Them: OK....can I drop the car off today?

No kidding.
The '07 STi ecu is more advanced/difficult than the earlier models.
