If you are really considering this car, I suggest you go see it and have Paul @ DBTuned check it out. I think his shop is in that area.

Ya I was seriously considering a leakdown and frame check at DB tuned....main thing is the motor and frame and body...if it is original as he states..I know he will take 15,000, cause he had it listed a while back for this one...

Im gonna low ball it IF everything checks out!!

Yeah, I think you have to own it outright and then have liability only insurance...which is risky for a nice sports car.

I dont know about the Insurance laws currently, but back in 1998 I bought a 1996 Integra GSR and my insurance company insured it but then again I don think they knew the car was salvaged..maybe different now

Yes you can. They insure at the value they're given just like any other vehicle.

The main issue with them is that a lot of banks won't give you loans for salvaged vehicles or they give you higher rates so you have to pay outright. And some insurance companies don't like to insure salvaged vehicles.

15k may be alright

If he can prove that its only been stolen theft, I'd consider. Save yourself 5-8k to drive a car with a silly "salvage title" (no body/frame damage of course)HELL yeah!!!

Hey...how about my Sti?

I'd stay away from this car. Only pro is the price and low mileage...and cons carry a lot of headache and maybe's. If you're going to turn it into a track car, maybe...but then there are cheaper alternatives for that application
