I am sad that the Impreza is the new choice of ricer 2.0
Ricer 1.0 are still buying Honda Civics or other econoboxes, slapping wings, slamming them, and putting FnF-esque decals all over them. Passe now, but still there.
Sadly, it's clear that the Impreza is the new Ricer 2.0's vehicle of choice.
I saw a pignose today (I have a pignose) where the early 20 something and his "cool buddies" were riding a slammed WRX with doberman dong muffler exhaust running stock wheels and stock RE92s.
Ricer 2.0 is better informed than 1.0 and produces "clean" rice. But is still rice, with form over function.
Sad.

idk man...
To me a ricer is some one who spends absurd amounts of money on cosmetic modifications on a vehicle that is worth less than $7500.
Although individually the items a ricer purchases are extremely cheap, overall the cost is high which is what gives them their stereotype.
I would say the example you saw is just someone who only had enough cash to buy the car and not much anything else, so they found a cheap muffler and heated the springs to give it the lowered look. all with out the cost of doing it the right way.

i totally agree with you chimchimm5, it makes us regular impreza owners look retarded. i just dont get the ricer mufflers along with stock wheels on a slammed car. how does that look cool? stock looks way better.

You forgot about Ricer 3.0
He's a little better funded, but still has the ricer mentality.
He usually drives a BMW 3-series or Lexus IS with 20" wheels and tires, slammed to the ground with a scraping bodykit and herra negative camber.

ROFL. You're talking about the entry level luxury car ricer.

Yeah we should get used to it, cause its not going to stop anytime soon. As the cost of our cars drop, the more affordable it is for the ricers. And if they're buying a car on the cheap side, they're sure to be buying the cheap parts to go with it.

Why don't we all just jack up the price of our cars then when we sell them so they won't be able to afford it?

wtf is a "doberman dong muffler?"
I think I'm feeling the effects of the WRX being the new Ricermobile. A girl asked me what kind of car I drive. Since I don't use my car as a pickup line,
I said "A subaru."
She said "What kind of Subaru?"
"Impreza."
"WRX."
"Yup."
"That figures..."
