I am cursed lol

200 miles into my new engine and I notice it start getting a little hot while driving and pull over to a greeting of fluid slowly driping out of an unknown location. I tried to limp it back to my house as I wasn't far without fail, it was just getting too hot, I hooked up my access port after I stopped the second time and it was reading 199 Degrees, :| I managed to drive up one side of the car onto a curb where I stopped so I could get under it and try to diagnose but all I got was this:

Just my luck :P I can't find the source of the leak anywhere, that shot is taken right next to the drainplug for the oilpan. My best guess is a leak in some part of the intercooler system. The leak stops if I leave the car off for a time, so it seems to be when the system pressurizes.

It's my birthday tomorrow and this post is just more about marvelling at things breaking at inopportune times :P I was on lunch at the time and just getting a bite to eat, I was unable to return to work, oops :|

I don't want to talk about it unnecessarily as my mechanic's workmanship is awesome and I know all will be well with the engine soon. This is just an unfortunate event and I wanted to more or less share in one of those moments where you're like "WHY DID YOU DO THIS RIGHT NOW I WAS SO BUSY MAKING OTHER PLANS" type of thing.

Oh well, I got my first birthday present just at midnight, I've been enjoying it for the past few hours... It's a good day in my book.

Manhands showed up bright and early today...car on trailer.
Pressure tested the cooling system and got a face full og green stuff coming from the banjo fitting on the brand new FP turbo.

Now keep in mind that the turbo showed up ready to drop in and I did give it look over to make sure that everything was sound; bolts tight, etc.

Installed new copper sealing washers & re tested the system.

Still leaking.

The lower coolant has a pin hole in it.

Called FP & they are shipping out a new hard line.

what are the consequences of an engine that overheats for a very short period of time?
