Humps for 300 yards

I was in London two weeks ago. I didn't bring along a digicam, but I asked my coworker to take a picture of this perplexing road sign:

They also call them "humps" in the Philippines. When I first got here some 20 odd years ago, I called them humps.

I love speed humps. They are best in the morning when you have morning wood. best way to relieve that.
