huge fire/smoke in North San Jose/Santa Clara?

I'm at work (near SJC airport) and see a ton of smoke and flames north of us, past Trimble and Montague. Anyone know what is is?

Hella cops blocking traffic on Montague for that fire.

And if they weren't doing that, they were busting cell phone users all down San Thomas all day. I've never seen so many cops on that road before.

That sounds awfully familiar ... wasn't there another construction fire in the San Jose area a couple of years ago?

Funny how driving while holding a cel phone and conversing has been compared to driving drunk as far as level of danger, yet the law still has another year before it takes effect. Everyone knows that talking on a cel in the car w/out a headset is dangerous and stupid, yet here we are in 2007 a year away from it being a law...

Yeah, I saw the smoke and heard about it later from my friend who works in the Rivermark plaza.

Regarding the cell phone law, I think it's stupid. Even if they do ban it and allow headsets, people are still going to have problems because they will be paying attention to the conversation instead of the road. What about the ladies doing their makeup, guys shaving, people reading, etc. They gonna make laws about that too? :x

Don't forget trying to find something in the center console or on the back seat.

Yes, it would be nice if driving like an ***-hat were a crime. I saw a lady on Hillsdale eating a freaking salad with a fork whilst "driving" if you could call it that. WTF.
