How are used WRX's selling?

I've been recently contemplating the idea of getting a new ride and with that consideration comes the question of how much I'd actually get for selling my WRX.

Just curious if anyone had an idea of how well these cars are selling in the bay area. A quick search on craig's list tells me there isn't much of a market. I see plenty of WRX's for sale and plenty around the 15K mark as well. Kelly BB for 2002 WRX in "good" condition seems to be closer to 17K.

If anyone has either sold their WRX or bought a used one, please comment. My biggest fear is that I'll end up wasting money parting out my WRX and taking a large hit because I can't sell it.

Btw....I have a 2002 Silver WRX Sedan with 28K in miles.

I work at a dealer in roseville and I don't see many on our lot used (1 a month). They are hard to find at auctions and as trade-in's.

I sold my 2003 PSM Sedan w/ Vishnu subzero and tint - otherwise stock w/ 32k miles last December for $17,800. The car was pretty much perfect with a very un-noticable scratch on the lower right corner of the bumper. No dents, no scratches, perfect interior etc. I went to Carlsen during that 'used car buyback' program when it still had the 100k warranty - because all service was done @ Carlsen, and the used car dealer told me without looking at my car "I don't really like WRXs especially sedans, but I could maybe give you $15k for it." This was when the trade-in value (KBB) was $16,800 and they had much crappier used WRXs on their lot in the $19-20k range.

I sold my 2002 WRX wagon with 42,xxx miles on it, for $16,000. I returned it to stock... I figured the next person should have the choice of what mods to put on it. And it's not like the mods I had were going increase the value.

I sold my wagon in about 3 weeks timespan. Listed it twice on CL asking $17,000. Test drove it to about 3 people (one who didn't really know how to drive 5MT be careful). Take really nice pictures of it. Play up things like: AWD, ABS, Side Airbags, Turbo, 227 HP, Momo Steering wheel, etc (the stuff we tend to take for granted) because those are really good selling points.

PS. This was the last week of October 2004.

you take a beating with trading it in or selling it. the real resale value of WRX's aren't too good b/c of how many there are. keep it if you can.
