I had no choice! My parents had the right to refuse my upgrading my permit to a license, and they exercised it (I got in a LOT of trouble in H.S.).
At age 17, I had to get ANOTHER permit, upgrade it to a license, and then buy the old BMW 2002 from my parents...

16, and I had the license by 10AM on my 16th birthday . Since I was the oldest child, my parents wanted me driving ASAP so that I would have to haul my little brother to stuff instead of them having to do it
