Actually... one of the foremost suspension engineers in the world, Herb Adams, used to sell a kit very much like that for lowering 3rd Gen Camaros.
Of course it was a set of billet machined spacers and a balljoint relocating kit that simulated a taller spindle; not oversized nuts... but similar idea
