How much are ref tickets?

So, I got ref'd and haven't got the slip in the mail yet telling me how much the fine is going to be. For those who have gone through this before, I'm just wondering if it's just gonna be like a $25 fix-it ticket fine or more, the ticket was just for exhaust.

Thanks, Chris

my ticket was $496 at first.. but it was for modified smog (state ref), tint, and loud exhaust.. i went and got smogged by the state ref and they signed off my loud exhaust ticket as well.. then i went to court to show proof that everything was corrected but the judge said that i still have to pay the fine for modified smog.. he lowered my ticket to $250 but with the $25 for tint and $25 for loud exhaust it came out to $300.. sorry for the long story..

when i got my state ref ticket, went to court and found out my ticket wasn't a fix-it ticket. judge dropped the fine from $4XX to $2XX since i didn't have to go through all the trouble of getting my car state reffed when the officer told me i had to.
so yeah, that's how much i had to pay for a non-fix-it ticket. if it is a fix-it ticket, i'm sure it's cheaper. i heard they are $35 now? (not sure)

no, your catback exhaust doesn't have anything to do with emissions. the only thing your aftermarket catback exhaust will affect is the legal sound level which is 95db. usually they test that when you get a ticket for loud exhaust.

your downpipe (for 02-05 wrx, uppipes have cats too) will affect emissions. as long as you have those in, you should pass. hope this helps.

i got state reffd first for bov $3xx and then a 2nd time for exhaust w/ no cat $6xx. Went to state ref and knocked out both tickets at once and paid $8 to the ref station and i think $10-$20 at the dmv. This was almost a year ago though, dunno how much it is now with the economy.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's crazy how the fine prices can vary so much. Hopefully it won't be to bad.

Yeah, I put her back to stock, well... close to stock anyways, she still had the Zerosports splitter, tgv deleates and APS inlet on which I had painted satin black before I installed them which he didn't seem to notice :sigh:
