some one backed into me today and cracked my left headlight and killed my hood. im just wanting to see what i should be looking for in payout from insurance.

~500 for the light+~500 for the hood+Paint/labor for the entire front end of your car=$$$$$$$$$$$$

 

the light will likely be 700+ since its a HID unit

 

only a little damage to the bumper but you know how the auto body places are. "dime size scratch and take the whole bumper off to repaint for $1500."
only damage is broken headlamp and hood. Im thinking that an aftermaket hood will be cheaper.
on that note, any ideas on an after maket hood?
it shure would be nice to pocket a little cash from insurance for all my troubles

just let the insurance fix it back to stock. that way if you sell it you will have the stock parts.
you want pocket money sue the guy that hit you.

insurance is to get the car back to the same condition it was in when wrecked

 

List on the headlight is $658.95 and the hood is $469.95. They're not cheap.

 

I would have figured the stock hood to be more expensive than aftermarket. oh well looks like ill just stay with that.

 

i got a oem sti hood used, but in brand new condition for 550 a few months back.. it came with everything.. painted, hood scoop, i/c sprayer, wiper nozzles, and hood latch.. search craigslist.. i got really lucky.
