How much for a 2006 STi with a salvage title?

It's been repaired, runs good, has 21K miles or so and a lot of extras including;

- Race Comp Tarmac 2 full coil over system
- Helix down pipe
- greddy evo 2 exhaust
- Cobb management system
- oem JDM front lip
- front and rear STI strut bar
- Hotchkis Rear Sway bar
- front Cusco sway bar
- Ipod Hookup
- amber matching Boost Gauge by prosport
- Subaru short shifter

The paint isn't so good on the repair area, color matches fine but is sorta of gritty on the rocker panel and inside of B Pillar and the front has had a little work too.

I was thinking this would be fun to bomb around in for awhile but don't want to lose too much money on the re-sale. I suppose I could part it out later on.

I'd say it depends on a couple of factors, how much are they offering it for? and what was the extent of the damage that led to the salvage title, and how good were the repairs.

In all the best circumstances, if they're offering it at 20G I'd hit it, if anything was doubtful in any regard, it should be less than that, but if they're asking much more, I'd probably take a pass.

you want the splitter off of the '04 I've got for sale, correct? I don't actually have the '06 just yet...

If you want to part out, I would buy the race comp coilovers and trade my stock 05 take offs with 26k miles on it.

Hmmm, I'd be into that if you wanted to do an install swap when you get your tires...

If I had to get it, I wouldn't pay more than 14k (and 12k if it were stock). Maybe someone else would... but salvage vehicles are shady and not worth the hassle (resale, insurance, financing) much of the time. Of course, you could get lucky.

I paid a lot more than that for it.

I watch salvage auctions all day long and I rarely see an '06 STi go for under $14000 before repairs. Even totally FUBARED ones go for at least $12000...

I'm cool with my purchase though. I'm tempted to repaint the entire car flat black.
