Yeah, I played SC/BW a lot a long time ago, and played CS when it was still beta 3, even before the P90 showed up (highest I ever got on www.theCLQ.com (RIP) was 12th in the nation sometime around beta 5 or 6, I forget.
I used to play SC/BW so much that I would just choose random on a map and as soon as I saw what race I was playing, I would be starting on a generic build order that could be tailored for grunt rush (marines/medics, 'lings, or zealots), air rush (hard to do, but worth it in the mid/endgame), stealth rush (dark templars or wraiths), elephant rush, tankus maximus, etc. WHILE maintaining a good defensive perimeter. Of course, you had to choose an early game strategy that could evolve into a mid/end game one without losing flow, or you were screwed, and you could never forget about base defense. I generally developed for an early game rush, but never went for an all out horde rush unless I knew I could take out the other guy in 5-6 minutes. I can't tell you how many games I played where I was 'toss and the other opponent was zerg, and he tried to do a 'ling rush on me, only to be beaten off by a lone zealot with a shield battery
. Then he would cry "CHEATER! NO 'toss beats my early game 'ling rush!" :P
And yes, I don't like unlimited resource maps, because then you take out one of the key features of the game, which is resource management. One thing that really annoyed me about SC/BW was that 200 unit cap. There were times when I was going on massive 'ling mongolian horde and had to wait because of that bloody cap.
Word of advice: Don't play the Koreans in SC/BW. Those doods have SPONSORED TEAMS for SC/BW, and they have MAD MAD skillz. It's SCARY watching them play.
Alas, my SC/BW days are behind me. I spend more time playing poker online or NWN/Shadows/Hordes, and my friend are trying to convince me to start up D2X since the new patch is a vast improvement over the previous one. SC/BW will always be one of my favorite games, and I am eagerly awaiting SC2 and SC:Ghost. I just hope Blizzard doesn't screw it up the way they sorto screwed up WC3, which, while not a BAD game, was not up to my standards as a sequal to WC2 and WC2:Tides. It gave me that ".. .eh.. it's okay," feeling, with no urge to rush home to play.

I was a big Warcraft1-2 fan, 3 was okay too. Eventhough the game was based on the same idea i couldn't get hooked to SC. Blizzard games are great games though.
