why is everyone taking their car to complete stock...I could understand putting back the stock exhaust and if you have an AP returning to the stock mode or putting back the original intake, but is it really necessary to put back on stock trunks and such? sorry if this is a dumb question I am just new to the car scene...

do CARB legal parts exempt you from having to revert back to stock?

I think it depends what they reff you for. I was reffed for emissions. I only had an exhaust on my car. I left it on and it passed the emissions test, so I got my ticket cleared. But if they reffed me for noise, I'm pretty sure I would not have passed the db test. But no, I didn't go back to stock.

ive gone and i was popped for loud exhaust and officer made me open my hood. found my fmic, bov, intake with no carb sticker. said i had an impressive car with all my mods and sent me to state ref.

i pretty much returned the car back to stock with some help with friends.

i like the one at the fremont location but they closed down i believe. but evergreen in san jose was pretty wack because they made me take off my gauges because "boost" isnt an oem option. i left my catback on just removed my dp cause it was catless and i had a carb legal intake. i left all my visual mods on the car and only got busted for the boost gauge.
