Ummm.... the date on the post that reported 148,000 was April 2005,
June 2008-April 2005=more than one year I think.....(don't they teach you kids math anymore?!?!?)
The original engine is still in my backyard, but yes, I burned a valve at 163,000 or so and put in a rebuild.
I also have replaced the clutch (twice) the wheel bearings (all around at least once) the steering rack, the struts and springs, the rear diff, the windshield (3times so far), all the brake rotors- several times, the radiator, driver and co-driver seats, countless tires, ....
the list goes on.
But I still have the original gear box, -yes you read that right, a 2002 WRX gearbox with 241,000 miles and still working just fine.
