like the question says guys! but i want to know in terms of decibals. i think 92 is the max here right? i know im going to be over but i just want to know by how much. i am running a catless exaust as of now with a PDE down pipe and a Perrin up pipe. i have the silencer removed and am using a hallmand mbc. and a bunch of other mods that wont make a difference on this subject. thanx for any info guys.

i think the carbon ti with silencer is 110 db right behind the car. at like 2 car lengths it's about 95. so it's loud, but passes i can check tomorrow on my car w/o if u want

yea the hks is perty loud. Especialy when its catless. Well its not really loud like all motor honda loud. Its like muscle car sound with a hint of the all motor honda loud. HAHA

yeah i forgot to add that i have the hks catless dp and that the numbers are at 3K rpm.

 

i have the hks carbon ti with helix dp, not cats. I personally dont think its that loud. While in the car upfront its really not loud at all. When i have people in the back and downshift to like 3500 and let the engine slow the car down they complain that its loud. I drive by cops all the time and they never do anything. Most of the time you will see the cop and u can either nuetral it or just go into a higher gear.

 

yeah, i would just be careful around cops.. i have gotten ticket with my exhaust w/o silencer. it was lame

 

yeah the cops around my neighbor hood suck *****. so i wanted to be a little careful. i am a guy who hates the buzzing sound while driving on the highway so i was actually looking at the greddy but i got a really good deal on the hks. oh well if its too loud ill just sell or trade it for a greddy evo! thanx for the all the info guys!

if you folks want, i have a radio shack SPL meter and if you wanna know how loud your exhausts are, just lemme know...

 

id actually would be interested in something like that cause i have an apex N1 its preety loud and im curious to see how loud it is by putting it on the meter...

on a side note if someone is selling there hks carbon ti i might be interested in one if someone selling theres...

 

For everyone's info, a Greddy Evo muffler is rated at 89 dB at 4500 rpms. And it's considered one of the quietest exhaust for the wrx. The hks, I'm guessing is about 10-15 dB higher at the same rpm. Don't quote me on that though

 

man im getting kinda worried everyone that i talk to says the hks is loud on a catless exaust. oh well i guess i can always trade/sell it for a greddy evo. but i really like how the hks tilts! thanx guys for all you posts. btw does anyone know how much power loss there is if u use a silencer???
