How to get Vomit out of a Seat??

what can I use to get the vomit out of my seat. its the back seat and I already took the seat out of the car and somewhat cleaned it with soap and water. Anyone got any suggestions from experience.
I also soaked the seatbelt in soap and water and it seems the smell is gone from the seatbelt.

btw I cant be mad about it because it was a two year old poor kid just got sick. if it was someone else they would be buying me a new seat.

do not wash it with soap or water or anything that will push the vomit into the sponge of the seat. but because you already have try doing what i did.

best way to remove something from the back seats is to use some break cleaner.
spray alot of break cleaner all over your seat.
take a good clean towel and press really hard.
the break cleaner should break down the vomit and the towel will lift it off the seat and not push it further into the sponge.

hopefully this help. i had to remove some olive oil that spilled on my back seat. it looks perfect after i used break clean

If you go to the pet store and in the kitty section there is stuff to get out pee and vomit. I think it is called Nature's Miracle or Simple Solution (something like there, there are like 3-4 different ones) just make sure you read it and it says something about breaking down the enzymes. Soak the seat in that and it will break down all the organic enzymes. You might have to repeat tomorrow and I tend to repeat a third time just to make sure.

I use it all the time and it has always worked to get cat vomit out of the car seats.

cool thx

after doing the soap and water I managed to get most of it out. you really have to stick your nose into the section where the vomit was to smell it.

oh yea when he vomited I pulled over and all the vomit was in his lap so i kinda lifted him and took him out so not that much got onto the seat.

thanks again

If you try to blot up the stuff you'll just push it deeper into the seat foam (which is open-cell and very, very thick unfortunately)... The only thing you can do is suck it out, using a deep-cleaning machine (steam cleaner). You can rent them at grocery stores and Home Depot type places -- just make sure it comes with an upholstery attachment. Or just invest in one -- they aren't that expensive for the mini upholstery models, and it will make your car smell a lot nicer if you do it every year or so...

I just bought a used RS and discovered that the awful smell inside was being caused by what must have been more than 64oz of *latte* spilled all over the interior. Gutted the interior, wiped off the mold, and spent 10 hours steam cleaning the damn thing, and I was still pulling up brown water at the end of it. Ugh.

What I realized later is that I should have invested in this Oxi-Clean stuff. It's sodium percarbonate and generates a nice fizzy hydrogen peroxide mix which is perfect for fizzing out coffee or vomit from car seats. And it disinfects, too, a nice plus. Use *hot* water in the steam cleaner, add a tablespoon of oxi-clean or so and a little bit of upholstery detergent, and go to town!

Maybe try this ...

Actually, I really want to buy one of the big ones since the more suction you can get, the better...

Any good auto detailing place can remove it.

My buddy had a cousin get too drunk on St. Patty's and yuked all over his WRX, he brought it in to my shop and we fixed it all up PERFECTLY. You could not detect any scent afterwards.

Ay Neven I have a wet deep-cleaning vacuum, let's use that tonight to get the rest of the puke out. It's the same vacuum I used on the carpet that got flooded and it took it all out.

"poor little guy just got sick" yeah that's what I'll tell my wife when my kid pukes in the back seat cause I was taking the twisties a little to fast.

Good one..haaaaaa. lol.

nah...really. I hope you got that out. Getting it all soaked into the foam with really wet cleaners can be a bad bad thing. Might smell fine now but then it gets hot......140 degrees in not out of reach with cars in the summer. Then you get in and the funk of all funks attacks the nose. I'd keep a close sniffer on that. If you smell it at all in the future I'd try one of the above recommended treatments. Detail shop is expensive but you're pretty much guaranteed it will get it out.

if it's cloth (not leather), i hope you've got it cleaned out by now. barf smell really lingers around if you let it sit and soak into the seat and/or carpet.

a buddy blew chunks in my ex's brand new ride shortly after she got it, and while we did our best to clean the seats and all the surfaces that were easily accessible, we couldn't get to all of the gunk (power seats w/covered rails & it was like 4am in the morning!?). worst of all, this was back in LA and during summer, so it was still 80 deg at night and 90+ (probably 150+ in the car) when we woke up in the morning.

needless to say, my ex's car stank like hell until we got the whole interior pro steam cleaned---$80!? my dumba$# "friend" ruined my BRAND NEW $200 tie too! Surprisingly, my suit made it out unscathed tho. I would've skinned his a$# alive if he ruined that!

anyways, good luck w/the barf, and drive your wife's car next time!
