How do you guys feel about overweight airplane passengers?

This has been a controversial subject amongst many.

Do you think that overweight people should have to pay for an extra seat on an airplane?

Just sucks for them when the two seats aren't next to each other.

In highschool I had friend who was obese. On a school trip we headed out to Great America and for some reason I really thought he could bring down the ride so I was afraid to be in the same ride as him. I don`t know why, but my mentality was awkward back then. :\

So back to the question. They ought to.

If they literally can't fit into a coach seat, then they should pay for two or pay to move up to business/first class.

They should have a section for bigger persons weather tall, wide or both with seats that can fit them, and offer it as a upgrade. After all I'm sure they would not mind paying a bit more for a comfy flight.

i recall watching a television show about this lady who was so obese that she had to come to the states from a different country for major skin/fat removal. On the plane ride, she was forced to purchase 2 seats to fit both of her legs so to answer the question, they are already forced to pay for 2 seats. I guess those people who can fit in one seat but their legs barge into your space are the main issue. im pretty sure you can ask for a better seat if that happens.

If obese people are forced to purchase a second seat then the airline company should but a discounted price on it. Watching the news a person is not deemed obese till the attendent has everyone seated. So with that I think since the other seat wasn't orignally sold they should get it at a discounted rate. That would be a much better way about going at it. But this attempt is just a way to force people to spend more. I wouldn't doubt it if larger people just did not fly at all

I'm just wondering when airlines are going to charge tall people to pay for the seat in front of them so they have more room for their legs.

Pretty much, and if they know they are too big and fail to buy two seats, no flight for them. Can I get a discounted rate if they are pouring over into my seat that I paid full price for?

I'm sorry but if you need two seats, you need to pay.
