Just wanted to know how to make that nice sounding turbo spool louder.

 

remove the intake silencer and scoop.

run an open downpipe

 

remove intake silencer, run an intake, buy a bigger turbo?

 

Will i loose power if i take the intake silencer off?

 

yep, I put a diesel truck turbo on my car.....had to cut a hole in the hood to fit it....but wow, its really loud.....LOL

Edit: No you wont lose power....its just a silencer.....and all it does is exactly that....silence the turbo/intake.

 

Actually, a really good trick i learned for that is that, if you can get into the area where the spool is, super glue some baseball cards in just so the very tip of the blades strike the edge of the card. This should give you the sound you are looking for, and make the same exact statement that putting them in your spokes made when you were 6.

I also put snapple caps in where to the tops of the valves, so people can hear how sweet my vavles are. I'm currently working on a pully system that will turn the crank on a hurdy-gurdy mechanically automated to play the initial D theme song. Also, i Have developed a attention getting machine that is essentially a deer whistle, but modified to be an actual referees whistle. People physically cannot help but to stare, thanks to a built in "survival" mechanism found in most humans. I found that these items have given me the attention that i demand.

duck tape a racoon to the inside of the heatshield. Every time you spool up, you'll hear a loud noise.

 

Is there something you can buy to make the the turbo spool louder?

Mount a small microphone near the turbo connected to a loudspeaker. No lol, I guess just up/down pipes and an intake should make it louder.

 

i just roll down the windows and go "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH" really loud when i pass other ricers....

 

Easiest way to hear the turbo is to take out the plug from the firewall behind the brake pedal. You will hear it especially at freeway speeds (will sound like a dentist drill).

 

I think i'll just try removing the intake silencer and check it out, otherwise thanks for the all the other advice guys. HAHAHAHA!!!!
