how did you break this in?

hey guys.
New to the board. Just gave up my baby for this beast and I'm having a hard time sitting in it under 4000 RPMs. HOW DID YOU BREAK THIS ANIMAL IN? I itch just granny-shifting!
Any advice would help.

Oh, and is anyone else paying an arm and a leg for insurance?

Does this guy know he's a banana?

It was DIFFICULT. I just drove the hell out of the car for the first week. Went from Sac to Tahoe and back on the first Saturday, then to Fort Bragg and down hwy 1 on Sunday.

I didn't keep it under 4k the whole time - I specifically remember some asshat in an s10 getting a full view of my tail lights on hwy 1. Once I came home from Fort Bragg I was around 1100 miles and was set

that would be my 1990 Ford escot pony 2dr hatchback with a one of a kind seat that liked to fall all the way back just for the hell of it. It was the automatic that drove like a stick cuz it liked to stall at stop signs and traffic lights and seemed to have turbo lag, becasue the second I stepped on the gas it would bog down...

Because I'm sure demand would surely exceed supply in no time...

as far as insurance for "the beast" goes, you should shop around. i have a clean driving record and the best i got was $2100 a year (full comp. and collision).

Oh my God! I just nearly shat myself from laughing so hard. You only THOUGHT that seat was a one of a kind. I had the same exact car back in '95 and '96. I felt all the same pains as you man (except mine was manual.) A 1.9 litre turd of an engine that regularly got smoked by near stock Civic DX's. Turbo lag out the wazoo, without any sort of turbo kick up top. What a pile that car was. I believe that car was mostly responsible for my current attitude towards American cars.
